

Bibliometric Analysis of the Balkan Journal of Dental Medicine: A Decade of Scientific Contributions (2014-2024)
This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of the Balk J Dent Med, covering the period from 2014 to 2024, during which the journal has published approximately 300 articles. The aim is to assess publication trends, identify influential articles, and highlight major contributors to the field of dentistry. The analysis includes metrics such as authorship patterns, collaboration networks, citation counts, and thematic trends based on keyword co-occurrence. Additionally, the study identifies the most cited articles, leading authors, institutions, and countries contributing to the journal. The evolution of research topics over the last decade is explored to provide insights into shifting interests within the dental research community. Findings will reflect the journal's impact on the field, indicating areas of strength and suggesting potential directions for enhancing the quality and influence of future publications. The results offer a comprehensive overview of the journal's scientific output and its role in shaping dental research in the Balkan region and beyond.

Jelena Jaćimović is a Research Associate and an Academic Librarian at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade. She earned her master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, where she also completed her PhD in computational linguistics. She teaches Digital Humanities in the multidisciplinary master’s program “Computer Science in Humanities” at the University of Belgrade. Her research focuses on scientometrics, particularly bibliometric and citation analyses, as well as natural language processing, with an emphasis on named entity recognition, information extraction tools, and anonymization of medical texts. Jelena has authored several systematic reviews and bibliometric studies, contributing to a deeper understanding of scientific communication and research impact. Through her interdisciplinary work, she bridges the fields of information science, linguistics, and dental research, with a strong record of publications and conference presentations.
