    Procedure of Inhalation Sedation with O2/N2O Mixture

    There are two methods to initially administer Inhalation Sedation with O2/N2O Mixture to children: the Standard Titration Technique and the Rabid Induction Technique. The clinical procedure for the administration with both techniques will be described and the proper monitoring and recording of the delivering process will be discussed. Reference will also be made to the monitoring of possible reactions and vital signs of the patient during administration with the primary goals the safety and the efficiency of the process.

    Konstantinos Arapostathis graduated from the School of Dentistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (April 1989). He obtained the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry from St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, USA (June 1994), received his PhD from the School of Dentistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (April 2004) and obtained his Masters in Laser Dentistry (MSc) from the University of Genoa, Italy (November 2014). Since November 1995 he has been practicing exclusively pediatric dentistry and for the last 10 years he has been working with the use of dental lasers in pediatric patients. He is the author or co-author of 86 publications (Citations 2015, h-index 24, i10-index 34, Google Scholar 2025), author of the chapter "Laser-assisted Pediatric Dentistry" (In: Coluzzi DJ and Parker S, Lasers in Dentistry, Springer 2017), co-author of three chapters in the book "Pediatric Dentistry" (Nikolaos Kotsanos, Haim Sarnat, Kitae Park, Springer 2022) and has participated with more than 250 papers or lectures at scientific conferences. He has a special interest and experience in the dental rehabilitation of people with disabilities as well as in the research and clinical treatment of children and adolescents with dental fear, anxiety and cooperation problems in the dental office.
