Chairside restorations
Chairside restorations are no longer simply a “fast” alternative; they represent a complete clinical philosophy that combines minimally invasive preparation, digital precision, and adhesive predictability in a single appointment. This presentation focuses on the real-world chairside workflow—from case selection and preparation design to digital capture, CAD design, fabrication, finishing, and bonding—highlighting the critical decision points that determine success. Special emphasis is placed on margin management and isolation, material selection according to functional and esthetic demands, occlusal adjustments, and the small quality-control steps that prevent remakes. Common complications encountered in chairside dentistry (misfit, marginal discrepancies, proximal contact issues, and postoperative sensitivity) are discussed with practical strategies for prevention and chairside troubleshooting. The goal is to provide a clear, clinically applicable roadmap that improves efficiency without compromising longevity, helping clinicians deliver predictable, high-quality restorations while optimizing patient experience.
