Minimally invasive full-mouth reconstruction in case of worn dentition

The lecture focuses on a comprehensive approach to managing patients with tooth wear, introducing a system for categorizing patients into green, yellow, and red groups. A key aspect of the presentation is the sequencing of therapy – starting with appropriate screening, clinical examination, imaging, and smile design – to establish an accurate diagnosis. This diagnosis serves as the foundation for deciding whether to treat patients with simple methods in straightforward cases or to implement interdisciplinary approaches in more complex scenarios.

The lecture also addresses critical questions, such as the selection of materials for restoring teeth affected by erosion, the minimum required thickness of ceramics, and the significance of the SDS concept in managing tooth wear. Additionally, it highlights how to identify the underlying causes of tooth wear and showcases an interdisciplinary treatment case of a patient with tooth wear and a gummy smile, presented from A to Z.
