Optimizing Accuracy in Dental Implant Surgery Using Digitally Manufactured Surgical Guides

The use of digitally manufactured surgical guides has transformed dental implant surgery by enabling precise and predictable treatment workflows. However, specific challenges are often encountered, including inaccuracies in guide fabrication, improper fit, and deviations during surgery. These issues can compromise surgical outcomes if not properly addressed.
In this presentation, challenges associated with surgical guides will be examined, with strategies outlined to avoid complications. The importance of accurate digital planning, patient-specific guide design, and precise surgical execution will be emphasized. Key factors, such as patient selection, stabilization methods, and fabrication techniques, will be explored to improve guide performance.
Techniques to enhance the accuracy of surgical guides will also be discussed, including ensuring proper guide seating, reducing deviations, and intraoperative validation of implant positioning. Additionally, the integration of CBCT and intraoral scanning into guide fabrication workflows will be highlighted for their role in improving efficiency and accuracy.
Attendees are expected to gain practical knowledge and actionable tips to optimize outcomes with digitally manufactured surgical guides, contributing to greater precision and patient satisfaction in dental implant surgery.
