    Stem Cells In Regenerative Dentistry
Simončič B*, Vulićević ZR, Marković D

The use of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC) and MSC identycal Dental Pulp Stem Cells (DPSC) became one of the most interesting tools in regenereative dentistry. These are pluripotent cells which could differentiate in all tissue cells, axcept embrional. We can use them for regenerative therapies in endodontology, periodontology, maxillofacial and orall surgery as well. Our »in vitro« experiences about their differential capabilities show on possible use in bone tissue ingeneering, culturing of dental pulp like tissues, angiogenesis etc. The abilities of these cells for proliferation and differentiation are outstanding.

We have evaluated the potential differentiation of adipose derived MSC's into adipose and bone lines as well. Tissue and Cell banks enhance biodeposit in part of cell processing and create a basement for developing different methodes of therapies in dentistry. All processed cells and tissues are, according to EU legislation, treated as Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP). To follow these directions, our group has developed special protocols for collecting and storing the dental and adipose tissues for processing, cultivation and therapy purposes. Collected tissues undergo cryopreservation, thoroughly overwiuved by EU inspection organs, for further use in regenerative dental therapies.

Adipose derived MSC and DPSC show a signifficant potential for tissue regeneration and several chronical deseases treatment as well. Speciffic MSC show higher succsses rate in therapy results as all collected MSC. However, further clinical research is needed in this field of regnerative dentistry.

    Current Preocupations:

Aim of the integration of medical field, cell technology and e-medicine. Future patient care will need more complex methods. Dr. Simoncic is working on the model of integrating different medical techniques. Modern and high tech medical practice joining with stem cell technology and bio laboratories and further patient care with e-medical devices. Thus ensure patient to establish his health and help him with optimal follow up support.
